RequirementWhat the official source saysSource
Visa Schengen short-stay visa required
The requirement attaches to nationality: India is on the EU’s visa-required list, and a UK residence permit confers no Schengen access — since Brexit the UK is a third country for Schengen purposes. Your residence changes which consulate decides, not whether you need a visa.

How you apply At the consulate of your destination state in the UK
The Visa Code sends your application to the consulate of the Schengen state you are travelling to — your sole destination, or the main one by length or purpose, or the first you enter — in the jurisdiction where you legally reside. For you, that is that state’s consulate in the UK.

Where you lodge it The consulate, or the visa centre it appoints
Applications are lodged at the destination state’s consulate in the UK or through the external service provider it appoints; lodging directly at the consulate must remain possible, and a provider may charge a service fee on top of the visa fee.

Visa fee €90 for adults · €45 for children aged 6–12
Lodged in the UK, the fee is charged in pounds converted at the European Central Bank’s euro reference rate. No fixed sterling figure exists in official text, so we print the euro fee only.
Regulation (EC) No 810/2009 (the Visa Code) — EUR-Lex, Article 16(7)

Decision time 15 days, extendable to 45
The Visa Code’s decision clock is the same wherever you apply — UK residence changes nothing in it. No official source publishes appointment lead times in the UK, so we print none.

Your UK permit must outlast the trip Valid at least 1 month beyond your departure from the Schengen area
The Commission’s UK document list sets the tail at one month: your UK residence permit must remain valid for at least one month after your intended departure from the Member States. The tail is set by where you live — the comparable list for the USA sets it at three months.
